The intermittence in the photovoltaic generation poses to the regulators the need to develop mechanisms that assure a stable network without limiting to the photovoltaic one, like the Network Codes and Smart Grids; while to the photovoltaic industry develop technologies that contribute to these efforts, such as hybrid investors and Energy Management solutions.

Future Trends in Modules Technologies to Optimize LCOE in Solar PV Plants

Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Monitoring Photovoltaic Plants

A key performance indicator (KPI) is a technical parameter that helps evaluate the successful operation of a photovoltaic plant (PV) and / or the success of the activities of the Operation and Maintenance Contractor (O & M)

The KPIs of a photovoltaic plant directly reflect their performance, and include important indicators, such as the performance index (PR), plant availability, intervention time and response of the O & M team. In addition, there are different forms of visualization to perceive the data in a more comprehensible way, such as the heat map and the solar index.

Albedo Measurement Best Practices for Solar Resource Assessment

Promising results of bifacial efficiency gains are estimated to be in the 10-30% range. Albedo, the amount of solar radiation reflected as a function of the incoming solar radiation, is a key input to solar energy models for bifacial applications. GroundWork has experience providing high-quality ground-data sets for solar resource assessment, and we now incorporate albedo measurement into our robust meteorological measurement campaigns. These campaigns reduce the uncertainty in energy model outputs, making engineering and financial partners more comfortable taking on new projects or re-powering existing projects using bifacial technology. GroundWork will discuss best practices for these ground-based measurement campaigns.
